Anchor of My Soul was inspired by Hebrews 6:19, which speaks of hope in Christ as “an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” In life, we face storms—trials, uncertainties, and moments of deep sorrow—but God remains unchanging, steady, and faithful.
This song is a declaration of trust in the midst of life’s hardships. It echoes the cries of David in the Psalms, who, despite overwhelming struggles, placed his confidence in God (Psalm 62:5-6). It reflects the heart of Peter, who, though he began to sink in the waves, was rescued by Jesus when he cried out in faith (Matthew 14:30-31).
